1.keyboard:-
Keyboard is most common and very popular input device. The keyboard helps in inputting the data to the computer.
The layout of the keyboard is like that of traditional type writer. all those are some additional keys provided for forming some additional functions.
there are generally 102 keys present in the keyboard.
2.Mouse:-
The mouse is most popular pointing device. It is a very famous cursor control device. It is a palm side box with a round ball at its base which senses the movement of mouse. And sends corresponding signals to CPU on pressing the button.
there are generally two buttons. left and right buttons and scroll bar is present at the middle part.
ADVANTAGES:-
1.Easy to use.
2.Not very expensive.
3.Moves the cursor faster the arrow.
3.Joystick:-
Joystick is also a pointing device. which is used to move cursor position on a monitor screen. It is a stick having a spherical ball moves in a socket.
The joystick can be moves in all four directions. The function of joystick a similar to that of a mouse. it is mainly used in computer added designed and playing computer games.
4.Light-pen:-
Light-pen is a input device which is similar to a pen. it is used to select a displayed menu item or draw pictures on the monitor screen. it consist on a photo cell and an optical system placed in a small-tube.
When light pens tip is moved over the monitor screen and pen button is pressed its photo cell sensing element detects the screen locations and send the corresponding signal to the CPU.
5.Track-Ball:-
Track-ball is a input device that is mostly used in note-book or laptop computer, instead of a mouse. this is a ball, which is half instead by moving fingers on ball, pointer can be move a track- ball requires less space than a mouse. A track-ball comes in various shapes like a ball a button and a square.

Scanner is an input device which works more like a photo-copy machine. it is used when some information is available on a paper and it is to the hard-disk of the computer for feature manipulation scanner captures images from the source which are than converted into digital from that can be stored on the disc. this images can be edited before they are printed.
7.MICR:-
The full from of MICR(Magnetic ink card reader). MICR is an input device which is generally used in bank because of a larger no. of cheques to be process everyday. the banks code no. and cheque no. are printed on the cheque with a special types of a link that contains particial of magnetic material that are machine readable.
This reading process is called Magnetic Ink Character Recognisation the main advantage of MICR are that it is fast and less error phone.
8.Optical Character Reader(OCR):-
OMR is an input device used to read a print text. it scans text optically character by character, converts them into a machine readable code and store text on the system memory.
9.Bar Code Reader(BCR):-
BCR is an input device used for reading bar coded data (data in the form of light and dark lines) bar coded data is generally used in labeling goods, numbering the books etc, it may be handled scanner or may be embeded in a stationary scanner. Bar code image, convert it into an alpha numeric value, which is than fade to the computer through which bar code reader is connected.
